The Husong difference

Its not just the shingle. Its who installs it.

A premium shingle installed poorly is just an expensive leak. The reason a name matters on a roof out here is that someone has to stand behind it and still be around in ten years when you call.

Family-owned since 1971

Half a century under one family name. Were accountable for the roof long after the crew leaves thats the whole point of a local name.

Licensed in Oklahoma & Arkansas

We legally work both sides of the line. One roofer for your Colcord place and your property across in Benton County.

A written proposal, every time

Scope and cost in writing before anyone climbs a ladder, so you can make an informed decision no surprises, no pressure.

Local, not storm chasers

Were not the out-of-state truck that shows up after a hailstorm and disappears. We live here. Our reputation is the business.

Straight answers

Shingle questions, answered.

Which shingle is best for hail in Oklahoma and Arkansas?

For hail, look for a Class 4 impact-rated shingle the highest rating there is. Malarkeys Vista and Legacy lines carry Class 4 and use a rubberized asphalt built to absorb impact, and Owens Corning offers impact-resistant Duration options as well. In our storm-prone corner, Class 4 is worth strong consideration.

What is a Class 4 impact-resistant shingle?

Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel-ball impact test the shingle resists cracking and damage from hail and debris better than lower classes. Its the standard to ask for in a hail-prone market like ours.

Can impact-resistant shingles lower my insurance?

Often, yes. Many insurers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 impact-resistant roof it can offset part of the upgrade cost. Check with your specific carrier, and well provide the product documentation you need.

Owens Corning or Malarkey which is better?

Both are premium; they just lead with different strengths. Owens Corning Duration is the wind-and-curb-appeal choice with its SureNail nailing strip and 130-mph warranty; Malarkey is the hail-and-impact choice with its Class 4 rubberized shingles. Well help you weigh your roof, budget and exposure and pick the right one.
